    Fall Tablescape and Giveaway

    *This post sponsored by LTD Commodities. All thoughts are 100% my own.

    I’m trying not to apologize too much, but I feel I must here. I’m so sorry, I sort of skipped fall and jumped right into winter here. You know with posts like sharing the Christmas Experience. Admittedly back in September I did share some personal insights onto why I love fall. Unfortunately, the beautiful fall season just didn’t last very long here in North Dakota.

    Our landlord mentioned raking up the leaves one day, and the next thing I knew they were completely covered in snow. With Thanksgiving this week, it brings back some good fall memories and scents. My aunt always hosted Thanksgiving growing up, and she made sure her tables looked nice for all our guests. This year, although I’m not hosting, I still thought it would be nice to dress our table up a bit more.

    I just love the decor I found at LTD Commodities. These flowers with the lights make having a formal dinner, without candles safe and fun for the kids. I also could not get over the glass light up pumpkins. Sadly, we had two, but one was ahem, knocked off the counter by a small child. Sad day indeed! The kids have been great at leaving the second pumpkin alone though – looks like they learned a valuable lesson.

    I’m also in love with these owl salt and pepper shakers, that match a spoon rest for the stove. My mom has a collection of S&P shakers, so I’m always on the lookout for new ones. The colors on these are just perfect to go with the pumpkins.

    The mini pumpkin dishes will be perfect for serving soup in, or dips/sauces so they don’t have to be constantly passed around the table. I love these! A small squeal may have passed my lips as I opened them up. So perfectly fall, and perfectly useful.

    Along with our package came a new LTD Commodities catalog, which my kids confiscated, and began planning their Christmas wish list from.

    GIVEAWAY

    My friends over at LTD Commodities would like to share the same Fall Decor items I received with one of you!

    Holiday Gift Guide: LDS Temple Medallions Giveaway

    *I received compensation for this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

    One of the best days of my life, was the day I got married. It was a beautiful day, I was marrying a pretty decent guy, and I was doing it in a place I consider Holy – the Mt Timpanogos LDS Temple. It’s nice to have little reminders around our home of that special day.
    I absolutely love these LDS Temple Medallions as an ornament. They are a perfect remembrance to hang on the Christmas tree of that special day in your life. Or if you have LDS friends, this would make a wonderful gift to send them.

    Currently available are 110 of the 144 operating temples. They offer a variety of ways to get your medallion as well. You can choose it on an easel display, as a necklace, a Christmas Ornament, or just a medallion.

    You can also collect them all as ornaments and decorate a tree solely with temples. Right now LDS Temple Medallions has a great offer going on. Check it out

    These truly are a beautiful piece, and I have 2 to giveaway – they are both for the Mt Timpanogos Temple. Please enter our giveaway, then head to facebook where you can enter another giveaway because you entered here first (isn’t that awesome!).   • Squeasy Snacker {Giveaway}

    Squeasy Snacker {Giveaway}

    2 giveaways in one day?! What was I thinking? Oh that’s right, that I love you guys! Seriously though, I’ve been thinking how I want to bring you more posts that you like, and I KNOW you all love a good giveaway. I’ve personally been looking for something to take snacks on the go, but keep them mess free, and I think these Squeasy Snackers just might be it.
    Scroll on down and enter to win some!
    Practical Parenting recently tried Squeasy Snackers, and this is what they had to say:
    Squeasy Snackers are a new favorite product for our family! I love how budget-friendly they are compared to pre-packaged kids snacks. We make our own smoothies and shakes almost on a daily basis, and before we got these my 2 year old typically ended up with some down her shirt. But no more!
    My kids love the fun, bright colors and will eat pretty much anything I put in them. What’s great is the unique design with no-spill insert allows them to be used with both thicker and runny liquids. So far we’ve filled them with fruit smoothies, chocolate protein shakes, apple sauce, fruit/vegetable juice, and yogurt.
    Squeasy Snackers stand on their own for easy filling. A pitcher with a lip or funnel work well for transferring the food to the snacker. When it comes to washing them, I found hand washing them using a bottle brush works great. Then I leave them out to dry till we use them again.

    My kids and I are big fans of Squeasy Snackers! They’re handy for snacking at home, on-the-go, or as a side in a lunch box. Squeasy Gear is available for purchase in 6 oz and 16 oz sizes at SqueasyGear.com

  • Mom’s Study Snacks

    Mom’s Study Snacks

    This is a sponsored post. Product was received as compensation. All thoughts are my own.
    Lola Granola. Study snacks

    Guess what?! I passed my first class! After 8 years of not taking any formal classes, when my first final came up, I was beyond nervous. One of the wonderful things about going to school at WGU, is that it’s all online, including my tests.

    The tests are proctored by webcam, but I still get to schedule it to fit into my time. So to make sure I had a completely distraction free zone, I scheduled my test for 10:30pm. The kids would be sleeping, and Mark would be home just in case they woke up.

    The problem I ran into, was staying awake. You guys, I seriously almost fell asleep mid test! Not cool. But it turned out OK, because I passed! YAY, one class down, many more to go.

    Seeing as how I do most of my studying at night, and will probably take my tests then as well – I really needed a way to stay awake. So I’ve been snacking a ton. I’ve tried hard to avoid eating past 9, but if I’m going to go to school, then I need the energy. Instead of turning to chocolate, ice cream, and candy – I’m trying to be a little more healthy with my snacks.

    This parfait you guys! So yummy!  I got a bunch of Lola Granola bars, but found the honey in it to be a bit overpowering. There’s so much goodness in them though, with honey as the only sweetener, they are also gluten free, and non GMO. I decided to try toning down the honey a bit though in a parfait, and it was perfect. However, if you really like honey, you’ll enjoy these bars just plain.

    Lola Parfait
    Your favorite yogurt
    Lola Granola: The Ruby
    Pomegranate arils

    Layer the yogurt, crumbled granola bar, and pomegranate arils. Enjoy. The Ruby Lola bar has the perfect blend with cranberries and almonds that really adds to this parfait.

    Win It!

  • 4 ways to wear leggings {Giveaway}

    4 ways to wear leggings {Giveaway}

    I was expecting that once fall hit here in North Dakota we’d get some pretty cool weather. So far it’s actually been extremely warm – like middle of summer warm. But I know it’s eventually going to cool off, so we’re getting ready. Grandma found us some nice coats, and then I came across these cute leggings at Girls Crochet Headbands. Princess R and I thought it would be a lot of fun to style them different ways for you.

    1. On Your Arms,
    Let’s just jump right into the crazy here! Put those leggings on your arms. I think we may need more leggings so we can all warm up our arms in style. Plus they’re just so cute. And of course if you have a second pair, you can toss them on your legs. Which brings us to the next style!

    2. Lengthen Pants.
    I seriously love these white leggings we got from GCH. They’ve got a cute ruffle on the bottom that I like to stick out the bottom of Princess R’s pants. It helps lengthen the pants too, especially the ones that have shrunk in the wash.

    3. Dress Up.
    Aren’t these adorable? Toss on a cute tutu, a headbow, but don’t forget the rainbow leggings. I can’t get over how much fun Princess R had in this outfit.

    4. Under a Dress.
    Probably the most common way to wear leggings is under a dress. Normally I’d prefer a less exciting legging under the dress, but this girl you guys. She just can’t get enough of these rainbow leggings.

    WIN IT!
    GCH would like to give one of my readers the same package they sent me. It will include
    Turquoise Tutu Top
    Turquoise Tutu Skirt
    Rainbow Bright Leg warmers
    White Organza leg wamers
    White cherry blossom headband
    Red girls hair bow
    Turquoise crochet headband
    I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
  • AlternaVites Kids Giveaway

    AlternaVites Kids Giveaway

    I’ve told you all about my picky kids right? Sometimes I look at my oldest and wonder whether she actually eats anything. It’s like watching a bird pick at her food, tiny little pecks here and there. Now I do know she eats, her lunch always comes home empty from school, and if I make the right thing, she’ll clean her plate. But I do worry about getting the right vitamins, so we’ve turned to kid vitamins periodically to give a little boost. I was excited to learn about these new powder vitamins, that might make getting those nutrients just a tad easier into my kids.

    Two lucky winners will receive a month supply of alternaVites Kids FREE!

    Practical Parenting was recently given the opportunity to try a sample of alternaVites Kids, and had an awesome experience! Read her review.

  • Biblical Beauty by Rachelle Weisberger #Giveaway

    Biblical Beauty by Rachelle Weisberger #Giveaway

    I love books. So much so that when we moved last week, I sold off most of our furniture, but kept all my books. They filled a good portion of our moving truck, and are all still sitting in boxes in my front room. I just can’t help myself.

    See I truly believe that books are important. We learn from them, we open our minds to new ideas with them, and they help our imagination grow. There are many poorly written books out there, but when we seek for the best books, we will gain wisdom.
    Recently I read Biblical Beauty: Ancient Secrets and Modern Solutions by Rachelle Weisberger. In my goal of finding my fashion, the title of this book stood out as one that could help me on my journey. I’ve only worn makeup a handful of times in my life, and I just haven’t cared much for my outward appearance. Gosh darn it, people need to look on my inward beauty!
    I’ve learned a lot since becoming a mother though, and as I continue to grow as an individual. I can work on my outward appearance without being vain about it, I just needed some guidance. Biblical Beauty helped me get in touch with the spiritual side of outward beauty by taking a look at how women I admire from the Bible would dress and care for their skin and hair.
    The last probably 1/3 of the book is devoted to our inward beauty, because Rachelle knows that it’s not just your outward appearance, and it’s not just your inward appearance that matters. The two together make a truly beautiful woman.
    If you get a chance, and want some quick beauty tips as well, Biblical Beauty would be a great one to pick up.
