Trailer for Lincoln
I watched part of the presidential debate last night with hubs, but between cleaning, and kids, and baking, I didn’t see a whole lot of it. I did however catch the new trailer for Dreamworks Lincoln. If you’ve missed my past posts on this new movie, well I’m sorry. Basically, I’m really excited for this. My love of all things history, and the few years I spent reading every book I could about Lincoln, just makes me thrilled to see this movie. Is it November yet?

Wreck-It Ralph the bad guy that’s tired of being bad!
Ever feel bad for the bad guy? I do a lot. Maybe I have a thing for bad guys…no, no that’s not it. I just want them to make better choices!I was so excited to see a preview for Wreck it Ralph the last time we went to the movies. I turned to Mark and nodded my head (our signal that we want to see that one during previews…), and I got a weird look in response. I think it will be a fun one to take the kids to.Like Wreck-It Ralph on FacebookFollow Wreck-It Ralph on Twitter -

Dreamworks Lincoln – I’m geeking out!
Have I mentioned that I’m a history lover? I am. I love it. I could eat up history! Back a couple years ago, I decided each year I was going to pick a time period, and read all I could about it. It was a grand old plan. I decided to start with the Civil War. It quickly turned into Abraham Lincoln. I was picking up books right and left about him and John Wilkes Booth. A year came and went, and I was still reading Lincoln stuff. In fact, I never did move on to another time/person.
You can see a snippet of the books I’ve read and still want to read about Lincoln on goodreads (go ahead and follow me there too!)So when Dreamworks decided to make a movie about the last few months of Lincoln’s presidency, I got pretty excited. You can bet this is a date night worthy movie for me!

Hunger Games and Presale PARTAY!
~SQUEEL~You may all call me nerdy now, but I personally think we all have our obsessions with things we like. For me it comes in the form of dystopian novels, like The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. Yeah it might be a tad ironic that they turned a book about violence in entertainment into a movie, but what can I say, I think it has a good message and storyline. It most definitely does not promote violence, but rather shows how evil violence is!Whoops, sorry a bit of a tangent there. What I really want to tell you right now, is that Blockbuster is having a PreSale and Release PARTAY for the BluRay DVD!Fans of The Hunger Games, you need to head out to your local Blockbuster ASAP and pre-order your copy before the end of day on August 15th (this coming Wednesday!). When you do, you will receive a free exclusive Hunger Games poster AND be invited to the release party August 17th from 9pm-midnight.What are you waiting for? Find your local blockbuster here http://www.blockbuster.com/releaseparties“May the odds ever be in your favor”(and I will gladly volunteer to take your place, if you want to fly me to your blockbuster, since there’s none near me) -

Working together, Oscar’s chimpanzee family—including his mom and the group’s savvy leader — navigates the complex territory of the forest.
The world is a playground for little Oscar and his fellow young chimps, who’d rather make mayhem than join their parents for an afternoon nap. But when Oscar’s family is confronted by a rival band of chimps, he is left to fend for himself until a surprising ally steps in and changes his life forever. Directed by Alastair Fothergill (“African Cats” and “Earth”) and Mark Linfield (“Earth”), “Chimpanzee” swings into theaters on Earth Day 2012.Second up is Disney/Pixar’s BraveHaving 3 Princesses in the house, I am thrilled for this Female Heroine! In “Brave,” a new tale joins the lore when the courageous Merida (voice of Kelly Macdonald) confronts tradition, destiny and the fiercest of beasts.Merida is a skilled archer and impetuous daughter of King Fergus (voice of Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (voice of Emma Thompson). Determined to carve her own path in life, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin (voice of Kevin McKidd), surly Lord Macintosh (voice of Craig Ferguson) and cantankerous Lord Dingwall (voice of Robbie Coltrane). Merida’s actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric old Witch (voice of Julie Walters) for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish. The Secret World Of Arrietty
The Secret World Of ArriettyComing to theaters February 17thHave you seen the trailers for this? It looks like such a fun movie. We’re big fans of Disney and Studio Ghibli over here.Residing quietly beneath the floorboards are little people who live undetected in a secret world to be discovered, where the smallest may stand tallest of all. From the legendary Studio Ghibli (“Spirited Away,” “Ponyo”) comes “The Secret World of Arrietty,” an animated adventure based on Mary Norton’s acclaimed children’s book series “The Borrowers.”Arrietty (voice of Bridgit Mendler), a tiny, but tenacious 14-year-old, lives with her parents (voices of Will Arnett and Amy Poehler) in the recesses of a suburban garden home, unbeknownst to the homeowner and her housekeeper (voice of Carol Burnett). Like all little people, Arrietty (AIR-ee-ett-ee) remains hidden from view, except during occasional covert ventures beyond the floorboards to “borrow” scrap supplies like sugar cubes from her human hosts. But when 12-year-old Shawn (voice of David Henrie), a human boy who comes to stay in the home, discovers his mysterious housemate one evening, a secret friendship blossoms. If discovered, their relationship could drive Arrietty’s family from the home and straight into danger. The English language version of “The Secret World of Arrietty” was executive produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall, and directed by Gary Rydstrom. The film hits theaters Feb. 17, 2012.Notes:
