Aida, blogger and recipe creator behind the Crafting Foodie, started blogging as a way to remember her recipes, and share them with all her friends and family who constantly wanted her recipe. She is also a stay at home mom to two little girls.
I was really excited last week when Aida shared her recipe for Grasshopper Cupcakes. I always get a little nostalgic when I see chocolate topped with a minty frosting. One of my childhood friends mom’s liked to make brownies with a mint frosting on top, and they were divine.
Thanks so much for sharing with us Aida!!  I enjoyed looking through her archives and look forward to seeing more recipes.

Kelley, mom of 2, won me over last week with her recipes. Not only did she share an amazing recipe for Salted Caramel Cheesecake Cups, but she also talked about how her tastebuds need a couple tried before liking something like Sushi or Hummus! I felt like we were just meant to be friends reading that post.
While browsing through The Grant Life, one thing Kelley mentions in her about me page is that she “schedule(s) my blog around my life and not the other way around.” This hit me hard, because sometime I schedule my life around my blog, and those are the times that everything seems to fall apart. How can I blog about things you want to read, if I’m not out there really living it?  Thanks Kelley for that reminder!
On to the recipes! Please head over to The Grant Life to get the recipes and pin them!

Jodie Fitz is a wife and mother of 3. I absolutely love how she describes herself  “5% Martha Stewart, 20% Erma Bombeck and 75% Lucille Ball; but at the end of the day I am 100% ME!”  You can read more on why she chose those 3 over on her blog

Last week Jodie shared some really fun and easy recipes with us.  My chocolate milk usually consists of milk and nestle chocolate syrup. Jodie’s chocolate and strawberry milks take a tad bit more time (but really hardly any at all), and sound just so much better!

If you are still planning a Valentines party for this weekend, or need a quick card to send with your kids to school like RIGHT NOW! check out her Chocolate Mustache and free printable card. The card can easily be sent without the chocolate mustache for you late minute planners.

It was a pretty slow week around here. On Monday I had a headache like I’ve never experienced before that just took me out. The rest of the week I’ve been spending my time helping the kids with Science Fair Projects. We were researching Butterflies and Fish. Let me tell you, that was a lot of fun! I just wish I could have been with them as they presented it to the judges today.
Some cool new things though around here – if you scroll way down to the bottom of the page you’ll find a new bar for the Daily Meal!  I’ve joined up with their Culinary Content Network. I feel I’m going to learn a lot from the other amazing bloggers in the network, and be able to bring you all better content. Wahoo!  So go check them out!
If you missed my only other post this week – I’ll just send you to look at it now. Help me raise awareness for Project HEAL and eating disorders. You can look forward to guest posts and educational info on eating disorders. Isn’t that exciting?
So enough about me!  Let’s take a look at our Featured Blogger this week!
Meet Lindsay – blogger behind Life, Love & Sugar. Her sweets call my name every single week!  It’s hard not to start baking up a storm after looking at her photos. Lindsay loves sugar, and making dinner, and being crafty. I got a kick out of reading through the Fun Facts she has on her site. Just to give you a fun idea
    • she’s eaten an entire Funfetti/Rainbow chip icing cake on her very own…in 48 hours!
    • She would be a dolphin if she could for a whole day. Because dolphins rock!
    • One of her favorite things is waking up on the beach from a nap.  So jealous that you can do that Lindsay!

Last week Lindsay shared 2 very delightful looking recipes with us – Reese’s Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake and Red Velvet Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting. Check them out!

I feel this recipe needs the word Loaded in there. It is loaded my friends, and I want a piece right now!

Phew, what a crazy and fun week it’s been! Last week I launched the monthly Foodie Friday newsletter. I hope many of you received it and enjoyed the look. If you’d like to sign up you can do that here, or over in the side bar.  For those of you that did get one, I would love some Feedback! What did you like? Didn’t like? Do you want me to tell you if you’re going to be featured in it?
Today alone has been a rollercoaster of a ride. It was going pretty good, until right when I started to work on this post. Then my husband calls to tell me he got a call from our bank about some possible fraud. Yep, sure enough someone thought $900 in starbucks was a good purchase to make using our card.  People, we don’t drink Coffee, which means just about any Starbucks purchase is going to look suspicious (though I admit I do like their caramel apple cider). Anyways, so when I was supposed to be writing this, and making my family dinner, I was on the phone getting it worked out with our bank. Fingers crossed there’s no problem in returning our money. You can expect a post on lessons learned about identity theft in the coming month.
Enough about me – today I want to feature a long time Foodie Friday participant – Please welcome Mary from
Mary is a Philadelphia based writer that specializes in gourmet cooking from the Mediterranean regions of Spain, Greece, Israel, France, Morocco and more. As her tag line says “a vegetarian diet doesn’t have to be boring!”
Although we aren’t vegetarians, it also doesn’t mean we don’t like to cut out our meat periodically either. If you read last week’s feature, you’ll know I’m seriously falling for some tasty vegetarian looking meals, that aren’t just sides!  I have loved visiting Mary’s site over the years, and trying to recreate her delicious looking recipes at home.
Last week she shared a more traditional recipe for garlic bread, and I have to say, I’m going to try it!  No garlic salt, no loads of butter. Just some bread, a little oil and real garlic.
This is an older recipe Mary shared with us last year, but one I just love! Her soups always look delicious.

Last week, I announced a monthly Foodie Friday Newsletter. It is almost completely finished, and you should be receiving the first of 12 newsletters in 2014 sometime between when this goes live and Friday night. Currently, if you have linked up to this party within the last month, you will already be on the mailing list (don’t worry unsubscribing is easy, if you don’t want to receive it), if you are fairly new, or have been gone for awhile, you can sign up on this form
On to our feature.  This week I’m really excited to share with your a returning blogger to our Foodie Friday Party. I kid you not, I was drooling over her photo’s the other night. Please welcome and say Hi to
Becca pulled me in first with her blog name – Amuse Your Bouche. If you don’t know, Bouche is French for Mouth. I love the French language, and Becca’s play on words mixing English with French I found delightfyl.
Becca herself lives in the UK with her fiance and pet rats (really Becca, rats?).  She has a beautiful eye for good food, and takes some stunning photo’s of them. I never would have guessed Vegetarian foods could look so good…all the time.
Yep, that’s right, Becca is a vegetarian, and for the month of January she joined some friends in a Vegan challenge (giving up her cheese!). I think these recipes she shared though, will please anyone, vegetarian or not.  Take a look, and then don’t forget to go Follow Becca and amuse your own bouche!

Start your day off with some Coconut Oats with Brown Sugar Bananas
Who here has ever had brown sugar bananas? no? me either. They sound amazing though!
    Avocado chickpea salad
For lunch why not have an Avocado Chickpea Salad
Yes, I did just go to the store to pick up some avocados so I can make this.
Smoky coconut and butternut squash soup
Finally warm up your night with some Smoky Coconut and Butternut Squash Soup.
    This is happening. Oh yes.
    Peach melba Eton mess
I didn’t feel right leaving you with just the 3 meals Becca shared, so I dove into her Recipe list, and found you a dessert to round out your day. Enjoy some Peach Melba Eton Mess
Now if you don’t see me around the cyber world this weekend…just assume I’m lost inside Amuse Your Bouche. I mentioned her recipes, and photography, but do me a favor and read everything she write too, because she is witty, and fun, and someone I want to be friends with!

    This week I’m Featuring
    Elizabeth from Organizer by Day
    About Me!
I fell in love with Elizabeth’s fun, and probably crazy, idea of frying cinnamon buns, but it makes so much sense!  Turning them into reindeer, just added to the fun. It wasn’t until I clicked over to her Easiest Chocolates Ever, that I knew I’d be featuring her today. Chocolate, caramel…you will sell me on just about anything with that combo.
Elizabeth begin baking in 2008 when she met her now husband. They have been married for just a little over 1 year now. Elizabeth began Organizer by Day to share organizing tips, but she quickly learned she has more of a passion for food.  When she’s not in the kitchen, you can find her teaching Zumba, playing on the Ipad, or diving into a book.
Check out her recipes below, and say hi!
Elizabeth’s favorite post is her 20 Crockpot Meals under $10. What a great resource for this busy and cold time of year!
