Is spring here? We went from below temps a few weeks ago to some beautiful 60 degree days this week. Every day has just been gorgeous, and kids are trying to get out of wearing coats to school (the wind in ND has me saying no to that). Sunday our temps are forecasted for the 70’s!

It sounds like a dream, but then my neighbor keeps telling me not to get too comfortable. According to her, we should be expecting a pretty good winter storm sometime this month. It makes me slightly excited, however I really am enjoying our sunshine now. To go with my beautiful weather, I felt pulled towards many lighter and more colorful dishes shared on last week’s party. Enjoy these features, and here’s to hoping for good weather all around!

I am officially enrolled in my 2nd term of college – woot woot! It’s been so exciting to do this, even though at times it can become extremely difficult and crazy. If any of you are thinking about going back to school, I totally urge you to do it. Feel free to message me with any questions and advice on going back!

I noticed quite a few chili’s and soups last week. With the cold weather hitting the south and east, I thought you’d all enjoy a closer look at these warming dishes. We had a windchill of -27 today, but my 4 year old still insisted we play outside for a little bit. BRRR!

Are you ready for Valentines? We’re spending most of our day in Bismarck attending the LDS temple there, while the kids are babysat – woohoo! In the evening Mark has a band thing for a wine and dine event. I’ll miss having a special dinner with him and the kids, but may have something special waiting for him later in the evening.

I must be craving summer, because while browsing the recipes shared last week, the ones I kept going back to felt very summery to me. I love winter, I do, but those real heavy meals start taking a toll on me. So even though it’s still pretty cold out there (Hey this week it’s warming up to the 30’s!), I’m enjoying more light and refreshing recipes shared by you – also who doesn’t love saving money? Did you know it’s only 2 weeks until Christmas?! Shortly after that it will be a New Year! I love this time year. Wrapping up a year with friends, family, and love; then getting ready to give yourself a fresh start. It’s just so magical.

Do you have any holiday traditions? I’d love to hear about them. For us, we eat Christmas Crunch and/or Pofferjes for breakfast Christmas morning. Then on New Years Eve I make a chicken cordon bleu.

Foodie Friday Featuring The Seasoned Mom

This weeks Feature is

Blair, owner of The Seasoned Mom, is pretty down to earth REAL! when reading her blog. When reading through her About page, and also her many delicious food posts, I truly felt like she was having a conversation with me – instead of just talking at me. Don’t you feel like that reading some blogs? It’s something I’m trying to change here. I definitely don’t want to talk at you all!

So anyways, while browsing our party last week, I kept coming to The Seasoned Mom, and some wonderful looking dishes. My favorite, however, that Blair shared with us was the 6 Easy Freezer Meals in 1 Morning. She totally bought all the groceries for these and then went to her friends house, who is pregnant, and together made a bunch of meals! Fun stuff!

She also shared these other ideas that are screaming Fall to me, and I know my family will just love!
